one thing that will always stick with me from my childhood is how special my mum made the occasions in our lives (and my Dad, but let’s be honest, mum’s are always the driving force behind such things!) Birthdays, Christmas, good school reports, graduation, buying our first house…no matter how old we were, we were made to feel so special, so loved and knew how proud our parents were of us.
So this is something I want my daughter to be able to feel too.
I want her to she how loved she is and how special she is to everyone in her life. So her birthday, of course, is the perfect opportunity for me to go all out to create a special day for her. Plus no one knows how many birthdays they get to celebrate in their life, so I plan on making every single one of her birthday’s amazing as I am so so grateful I have her in my life.
So, below is a little peak into the beautiful summer picnic I created for her.
^ birthday blooms by Sage & Ivy aka the best florist ever; her wild boho style is my fave.
^ one spoilt little girl, her very own house! This playhouse is even better in real life than I imagined it to be! Highly recommend!! It’s from Quality Backyard.
^ homemade fairy wands, beautiful flowers, giant dreamcatchers, hula hoops, a basket full of hippos instead of party bags, teepees, music, little friends…perfection.
^ ice tea with lemon for a hot summers day.
^ Facepainting just makes a birthday party that extra special. Matching butterflies with my baby.
^ snacks galore! Carrying a theme right through to the food table – pinecones, dried flowers and lace.
Here’s hoping your birthday party was the day of your dreams baby girl!
When we talked about her upcoming birthday the only thing she asked for was “Peyton yellow birthday cake, Lulla purple birthday cake” so a purple & yellow striped banana cake was created. The things we do for our children! Birthday parties don’t need to cost a lot of money, it’s the simple touches (like choosing an icing colour) that really make the day for them.
