I’m a busy baby mumma of two gorgeous girls 3.5 and almost two years! Who is also starting up my new baby a online florist business!
What’s the biggest thing you’ve learnt about yourself as a Mum / how have you changed since you became a Mum? I was a nanny pre having children, and was pretty confident and liked to think I knew what I was doing but NOTHING, nothing prepares you for becoming a Mum yourself! I had such strong opinions and ideals about what I was going to do and not do and felt like that just all flew out the door after actually experiencing it. My mindset has changed so much and after being at times quite judgy have now become so open to anything. I feel like since turning 30 and now being a mummy for almost 4 years I’ve become the most confident and sure of myself than I ever have in my life.
What’s your favourite way to spend time with your children?
My Husband works offshore for a month at a time so it’s always like Christmas when he’s home to go on super fun adventures as a family. When he’s home I feel like a weight has lifted off my shoulders as I have his support and I definitely relax more with him around and really enjoy the little things! The kids are excited daddy is home and we all just really enjoy each other and make the most of our time together, our happiest times are spent down at the family beach house and the long afternoons spent on the beach with the sand between the girl’s toes!
What’s your top tip for keeping happy and positive as a Mum? My top tip would be don’t have such high expectations of yourself, give yourself a pat on the back every once in awhile! We deserve it! And if your ever having a bad day, the house is a mess you haven’t managed to yet put a bra on and it’s midday go to Facebook and follow Constance Hall she is one hell of a queen, will make you laugh and remind you we are all amazing and doing the best we can! Not joking she makes me smile every day with her raw honesty and hilarious anecdotes!
How do you carve out some ‘me time’ into your life? With my Hubby working a fly in fly out job, I sometimes find it really hard to find some “me time” sometimes for me it’s the small things like getting a car wash without the kids in the car it sounds very sad but it’s 10mins of peace where I can sit there and tune out. My new baby floristry business has also been an amazing therapeutic thing for me to do, just using my hands being creative and working with these beautiful fresh flowers from mother earth really helps centre and calm me and I find it very relaxing and rewarding.
Aside from your family, what makes your truly happy in life? To be honest if my family are healthy and happy, the sun is shining and there’s a good glass of vino in my hand I feel my life is complete!
